Privacy notice
This notice explains the information handled by Textfrog List when visitors browse the directory, follow outbound links, or submit a website.
Effective July 1, 2026Information collected
When a website is submitted, the service stores the submitted name, email address, website URL, category, summary, optional offer information, a one-way hash of the network address, basic browser identification, timestamps, and moderation status. Administrative actions and listing changes are recorded in an audit log.
How information is used
Submission data is used to review suggested websites, prevent duplicate or abusive submissions, contact a submitter when clarification is necessary, investigate operational problems, and maintain an accountable moderation history. Contact details are not displayed publicly by the default application.
Cookies and local storage
The public directory does not require an account. A strictly functional session cookie supports CSRF protection, the anti-bot challenge, flash messages, and the administrator session. Theme preference is stored locally in the visitor's browser. The default application does not install advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Click records and outbound websites
The application can count visits made through its outbound redirect route. The default click counter does not store a visitor's raw network address. After leaving Textfrog List, the destination website's own terms and privacy practices apply.
Favicons and service providers
The configured favicon provider may receive the website URL needed to return an icon. Hosting providers, content-delivery services, security services, and backup providers may process limited technical data as necessary to operate the service.
Storage, security, and retention
Application records are stored as files on the server rather than in a database. Reasonable technical controls are used to protect non-public data, but no system is completely secure. Submission details are retained only for review, moderation, and abuse prevention. Retention periods may also be affected by abuse prevention, legal obligations, backups, or dispute handling.
Requests and contact
Subject to applicable law, a person may ask about, correct, or request deletion of personal information connected to a submission. Requests can be sent to [email protected]. Identity or ownership verification may be required before a request is completed.
